On 21st January, 2019, an award presentation ceremony was held at Boa-Amponsem Senior High School in Dunkwa-On-Offin, Central Region, Ghana, West Africa.
The award was presented by a non-governmental Organization known as SNG foundation of Hope-Canada to students who are needy but brilliant. I was so grateful to be chosen by the school for such an award and so happy to be selected by the SNG Foundation of Hope among the four (4) other students who were all qualified for the award.
It was a joyous occasion for both the students’ body and the staff. The officials of the organization announced their vision and objective which is to educate and equip children in vulnerable communities all over Africa with library and computer literacy education. Afterwards, the presentation proceeded. Things they brought along include sporting wares, a projector and laptops.
I and the other awardee received an amount of $500 Canadian dollars which is equivalent to GH₵1,500.00. After the presentation, we were called upon to give an acceptance speech and granted an interview.I was very happy because it was my first time receiving such a wonderful gift.
My hope is that the organization would get more funding to carry out this good charitable work, they have embarked upon so as to benefit more children in many disadvantaged communities.
In conclusion, it was such a memorable occasion. I thank SnG Foundation very much! Faith Adzodogbe.
